Huether School of Business

Your pathway to success starts here

From classroom to boardroom

On any given day at the Huether School of Business, you’ll find students developing a business plan for the city of Albany, preparing for an internship in their field of interest, participating in a sales competition that raises funds for a good cause, or working toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees with our 2-in-4 programs. And now, with the transition to BBA programs, students can receive a greater breadth and depth of business knowledge in finance, accounting, management, marketing, organizational behavior, and entrepreneurship. At the core of what our students learn is how to build effective relationships, setting them up to become successful leaders.

The Huether School of Business aspires to prepare students with a well-rounded business education, enabling them to become professionals who act with integrity and give back to their communities.

Through our flexible MBA program, our graduate students can reach their goals at their own pace and on their own time. Our grad students build on knowledge they’ve already developed and invite new skills into their repertoire. We often hear from our students how they immediately apply what they learn from their peers and professors to their jobs, and graduate ready to take on the next chapter of their careers.

Our alumni work at Fortune 500 Companies across the nation and around the globe or start their own fun and exciting enterprises. One thing they have in common: a strong foundation in business they built at Saint Rose.

Why we’re different

  • Innovation: Our 2-in-4 programs allow students to receive both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in four years, and our MBA program provides flexibility for grads on the go. We offer the only sales major in New York State.
  • Internships: Students receive hands-on experience through internship opportunities at local or national businesses.
  • Leadership and personal development: Honor societies, clubs and organizations, and business competitions focus on enhancing students’ leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

Over the almost three years I have been at Saint Rose, I have never stopped learning. The marketing program has been challenging, engaging, and fun. We do lots of team-related activities, like projects and simulations, to help us get ready for the job market.

I have learned about the power of expressing myself concisely, how each word must captivate the client, and the importance of creating value. I believe these skills are paramount for anyone to succeed, regardless of what field you’re in."

Internship Opportunities

Our students get their hands dirty.

We don’t wait for our students to gain hands-on experiences. Especially in the field of business, students need to have one to two internships under their belts by the time they graduate. That’s why the Huether School of Business places an emphasis on internship experience, so students can explore different career paths and gain new knowledge and skills outside of the classroom.

100% of undergraduate business students participate in an internship before they graduate.

Note from the Dean of Huether School of Business

The Huether School of Business grounds students in foundational and experiential knowledge, preparing them to become confident leaders at all levels of an organization. Complementing our expert classroom instruction are a variety of hands-on experiences, from group projects and simulations to career fairs and required internships. But really, just like any healthy business, the most important part of our school is the relationships. Students from diverse backgrounds learn to work together toward a greater purpose — whether it’s construction of a successful business plan or problem-solving for clients — preparing them for any office environment.

Our strategy is to think about the future and then work backward — how can we help our students reach their fullest potential? That’s why we offer 2-in-4 programs, making it possible for students to graduate in four years with a BS and an MBA.

If you’re interested in business, then there’s a home for you at Saint Rose. We hope to see you in one of our classrooms soon!
