The Veteran Center

Dedicated in 2015, our Veteran Center, a 1,300-square-foot house, provides a place for veterans, veteran dependents, and military family members to study, use the computers, socialize, or hang out between classes.

It is an official “Battle Buddy Center,” as designated by New York State Industries for the Disabled Inc. (NYSID).

Veterans Residence Hall

If traditional dorm living among 18-year-olds doesn’t sound like the right fit, we have a 6-bedroom, 2 ½ bathroom house occupied only by veterans. Our newly renovated Veteran Residence is located beside our Veteran Center and provides year-round living, a full kitchen, living room, included cable and internet, and free, in-house laundry facilities.

Because we understand we’re dealing with seasoned adults, there’s no resident assistant on duty. And in most cases, an eligible veteran’s Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) more than covers the monthly costs.

Student Veterans of America

Building Each Other Up Stronger.

The Saint Rose chapter of the Student Veterans of America is a social and informational organization for students, alumni, and friends. This nonpolitical environment gives members a chance to share information, plan activities, and build upon the camaraderie they were accustomed to while in the service.

Military Friendly 2019-2020 Top 10 School

Because we focus on the needs of our student veterans, Military Times ranked Saint Rose No. 20 on the 2018 “Best for Vets: Colleges” list, rising 10 spots over the previous year. Saint Rose was the only Capital Region institution to be named to the listing of 140 four-year U.S. colleges and universities and one of only three schools in New York to make the top 50.
