Saint Rose alumni have access to Career Center services and resources to assist with career, job, and graduate/professional school search; opportunities to network with Saint Rose students and alumni; post job and internship opportunities on our online system; and/or participate in our Recruiting Program.

Career Services for Alumni

Contact the Career Center to schedule an appointment.

  • Career Planning: explore values, interests, skills, and personality traits, utilize career assessments, gather information via print and online resources, and identify major/career options
  • Graduate/Professional School: gather information on programs and schools, learn about the application process, review materials, and evaluate if continuing education is the next step
  • Interviewing/Mock Interview: discuss the interview process and/or participate in a practice interview to receive feedback, develop skills, and identify strengths and areas for improvement
  • Job/Internship Search: learn how and where to find available opportunities, become familiar with the processes, develop and review materials, and explore strategies and resources
  • Networking: develop strategies to expand a professional network, explore current fields, clarify career goals, and learn about specific occupations and opportunities
  • Resume/Cover Letter: review application materials and learn how to effectively represent education, experience, and skills to potential employers and/or graduate schools

Resource Room

The Career Resource Room, located within the Career Center, houses a collection of over 500 books and other publications related to interests, majors, careers, job search, internships, summer jobs and graduate school. The Career Resource Room is open during the Career Center’s hours. Stop by to browse or meet with our staff during walk-ins to learn more about the resources and how they may be most helpful to you.

eBooks

The Career Center maintains a collection of eBooks with information on more than 70 career fields including an overview, educational requirements, position descriptions, and compensation etc.

Online Resources

The Career Center partners with Interfolio, a web-based credential management service, to provide self-managed 24/7 online access to your account. This service provides you and your recommenders the ability to mail or upload documents to your account, and the option of hardcopy or electronic delivery of materials, plus more.

The Career Center sponsors Education Expo each Spring semester. This event provides students and alumni with an opportunity to connect and interview with education employers with anticipated vacancies.

Alumni can access job and internship listings via HireStRose, our on-line career management platform. Please use your 9-digit Saint Rose ID# as your User ID. If you do not know your Saint Rose ID#, please contact the Career Center for assistance.

  • Jobs and Internships posted directly with The College’s Career Center (full-time, part-time, on-campus, off-campus, internships, volunteer, babysitting/caregiver, work-study positions, and graduate assistantships)
  • Events and Recruiting including Information Tables, Information Sessions, Resume Collections, On-Campus Interviews, Career Roundtables, Education Expo, Etiquette Dinner, and other career-related programs
  • Employer information for those who list positions with the Career Center, including contacts, address, website, and available positions currently on eCareerCenter
  • Resources including Albany Business Review Portal, Careers in Focus eBook Series, GoinGlobal, Graduate Jobs Bulletin, What Can I Do With This Major?, and Links to job and internship websites, plus more.

Networking Opportunities

The Career Center’s professional networking community for students, alumni, employers, and friends of the College.  The Career Advisory Network is a subgroup of The College of Saint Rose Career Center LinkedIn Group. Members of this subgroup are looking to connect with one another in order to offer or gain advice around career related topics. We encourage members to start discussions about the information you are hoping to obtain as well was what you can offer to others.

 

The College of Saint Rose Professional Connections program works to create a networking opportunity where current students and recent alumni can draw upon the knowledge, skills, and perspective of an experienced professional. This connection can provide guidance and feedback while facilitating the student’s growth and development. CAREER CENTER STAFF WILL COORDINATE OUTREACH, MAKE RESERVATIONS, COLLECT RESUMES AND SCHEDULE INTERVIEWS.
  • Employer Information Tables
    One employer per day within the Fall and Spring semesters are invited to host a table in the student center and speak with students about their organization and opportunities (full- and/or part-time jobs, internships and volunteer).
  • Employer Information Sessions
    Introduce your organization to our students and alumni. Technology is available for media presentations held in the Career Center resource room.
  • Resume Collection
    We will advertise your available position(s) and collect resumes from interested students and alumni for your review. Deadline dates are decided between the employer and Career Center staff. Employers can choose to arrange interviews directly with candidates at their office or we can help facilitate interviews on-campus.
  • On-Campus Interviews
    We provide space in the Career Center for employers to interview students and alumni. Our staff will coordinate and promote one-on-one or group interviews in a private setting, tailored to the recruiter’s schedule. Employers may choose to pre-screen resumes before deciding to interview a candidate, in which case resume submission deadlines must be set well in advance of the interview dates. Also an “open” format is available where any interested candidate will be considered and interviewed.
  • Site Visits
    We will be happy to arrange a time to come to your facility, or meet at the Career Center, to discuss recruiting options.
  • Advertising/Marketing
    Our office advertises your presence on-campus. This includes ads in the weekly student run newspaper, ads posted on various screens around campus, weekly email sent to faculty/staff/administration, campus calendars, on-line job/internship posting system, posters, and targeted emails to students and alumni.
