The Sidney and Beatrice Albert Inter-Faith Lectureship Program was founded at The College of Saint Rose to preserve and develop the qualities of compassion and religious tolerance embodied by the late Sidney and Beatrice Albert. The program, which brings notable speakers to the Saint Rose campus each year, is designed to encourage understanding and dialogue among people of different religious backgrounds and faiths.

Sidney and Beatrice Albert, lifelong residents of Albany were probably best known for their generosity and work on behalf of the poor, the disabled and other less fortunate people.

Over the years, the Albert’s actively gave to all kinds of organizations and individuals regardless of ethnic and religious affiliation. As a result of his concern and generosity for the people of the Capital Region, Sidney Albert received the Endowment Achievement Award by the Council of Jewish Federations of North America in 1987 and the Humanitarian Award by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith in 1988.
