If a career in education is your life calling – You belong here.
At The Thelma P. Lally School of Education we understand the value of a great education and know how to help you become an outstanding educator, leader, counselor or clinician. Our 18 diverse courses of study offer varied pathways for you to fulfill your potential to become the best in your field whether it’s teaching, counseling, administration, speech/language therapy or educational research.
With nationally accredited programs, small classes and an emphasis on applying theory to practice in a range of field settings, you will be able to work closely with faculty who are passionate about their discipline and bring a wealth of experience to their teaching. These opportunities will allow you to engage in research, advocacy, teaching, counseling and leading alongside faculty and practicing professionals in real world settings.
Ask our program graduates, and many will directly credit their jobs today to the internships or practicums they found here, including:
Urban Schools (Albany, Schenectady, Troy, New York City)
Suburban and Rural Schools (Bethlehem, Shenendehowa, Niskayuna, Chatham, Schoharie)
Clinical Facilities (Capital District Psychiatric Center, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, Center for Disabilities Services)
Charter Schools (Albany Community Charter School, Troy Prep, Green Tech)
Our graduates work in public, private and charter schools, agencies, higher education and clinic facilities in urban, suburban and rural environments; they impact their communities and assist others in reaching their potential.
Whether you are just beginning your journey as a professional or seeking to enrich your current skills, we welcome the opportunity to serve as your guide. We’re proud to say that our reputation precedes us, in the Capital region and beyond.
