A college community in New York's capital city.

Getting involved in campus life is an essential part of the Saint Rose experience. Our students join and start clubs, lend a hand in organizations ranging from local schools to international aid organizations, and develop relationships that will last a lifetime. In fact Saint Rose is known for its tradition of student service – with opportunities to volunteer both in Pine Hills and greater Albany as well as during alternative-break trips to places such as Washington D.C, New Orleans, Florida, and Guatemala.

The Saint Rose neighborhood is called Pine Hills, and we think it’s the best college neighborhood in New York’s capital city. Pine Hills has tree-lined streets and stately Victorian architecture, and not more than five minutes from the classrooms or residence halls are coffee houses, unique eateries and our fave—the vintage movie theatre.

With 19 Division II athletic teams, intramural sports, and fitness programs, our students have ample opportunities to stay fit and enjoy competition. And our Office of Student Life ensures that there’s always something new happening on campus.

For outdoor enthusiasts, our campus is a short stroll from Washington Park, Albany’s own Central Park for recreation and year-round concerts and events. We’re also a simple day trip to the Hudson Valley and the Adirondack and Catskill mountains.

All in all, it’s easy to see why the Albany region, with more than 60,000 college students, is among the top cities in the U.S. in which to receive an education, according to “Places Rated Almanac.”
