The new undergraduate admissions video shares the stories of seven alumni who were inspired to achieve their personal dreams thanks to Saint Rose. From the military veteran who couldn’t find his way, to the shy teenager who was afraid to speak up in class, to the Zambian national trapped by poverty, our new admissions video profiles diverse alumni from around the country who have found career success and personal fulfillment in their lives – and continue to grow and contribute to their communities.

These seven amazing individuals share their thoughts about how Saint Rose gave them the opportunity, guidance, skills, and confidence they needed to transform their lives – and the lives of those around them. Perhaps even more important: They represent all our alumni, who continue to make the world better, each in his or her own way.

In an effort to meet the growing demand for professionals trained in protecting data and computer systems, The College of Saint Rose has launched a bachelor’s degree program in Cybersecurity. Students can enroll now in the program for the Fall 2018 semester.

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education forecasted that the number of unfilled jobs in cybersecurity worldwide will grow to approximately 3.5 million by 2021.

The new Cybersecurity degree takes a holistic approach to the field. Students receive a solid foundation in computer science while also taking courses in criminal justice, business, mathematics, and psychology.

The Saint Rose Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its board. The board comprises five elected officers and 16 elected directors. The association’s board meets approximately four to five times per year to plan alumni events and represent the more than 42,000 Saint Rose alumni around the world. Directors are elected to four-year terms.
 
Alumni should forward nominations to alumniassociation@strose.edu prior to May 1, 2018. The deadline for candidates to send a letter of interest and resume to alumniassociation@strose.edu is May 1.
 
All voting members of the alumni association will be able to vote on a slate of candidates from June 4 to June 22. Please note that all alumni are members of the Alumni Association; however, they must submit a form, to become a voting member and elect new directors.
 
New directors will be installed at the alumni association’s annual meeting, which is scheduled for Saturday, October 13 (part of HOME.COMING & Family Weekend).

HOME.COMING & Family Weekend will be October 12 through 14, 2018 and will bring together all alumni, including athletes and our Golden Roses, and of course our students and their families. Plan now for a weekend together with friends old and new, full of memories, new adventures, and great times.
