teach-out and transfer updates

We’re committed to supporting you every step of the way. Here are four steps to successfully transition to your new educational journey.

Get to know our Teach-out Partners. All teach-out partners welcome campus visits. Contact the partner’s admissions department to arrange your visit. Many partners also offer advisement sessions at Saint Rose and Zoom appointments. Click here to review the list of partners and check for available dates and times to meet with a rep. You’ll find all program alignments listed by the institution on Canvas.

Application Process: Each teach-out partner may have a slightly different transfer process, but rest assured, they’ll waive any application fees. Many partners offer a dedicated landing page for Saint Rose students. Start by accessing our teach-out website here. Then, click on the school’s link to view their dedicated landing page. When applying, be sure to indicate that you are a St. Rose student.

Transcript Evaluations: Transfer counselors at our partner schools will provide credit evaluations to ensure seamless credit transfers and timely degree completion. To begin this process, schedule an appointment with a transfer counselor at your chosen school. You can access our teach-out website here for their transfer department contact information.

Financial Aid: All students should have received a copy of their 2023-2024 Saint Rose financial aid award letter in the mail. Please contact our financial aid office if you do not have this letter. You will also need to complete the 2024 – 2025 FAFSA. While we strive to ensure you receive the same scholarship/financial aid at the new institution, it’s not guaranteed. You’ll need to work with the new institution’s financial aid office. That information is available on our partner’s dedicated landing page, which is available by clicking on the school’s link below. We’ll also continue to support you through this process. Contact us via email at finaid@strose.edu or via phone at 518.454.5464.

More appointments with UAlbany added: Representatives from UAlbany have added additional transfer advisement appointments. Students interested in meeting with admissions representatives can sign up here for an appointment.

Learn about programs at LeMoyne College: Admissions representatives will be on campus to meet with students on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Sign up for an appointment here.

Schedule an advisement session with the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Admissions representatives will be on campus to meet with students on March 26 (register here) and April 2 (register here).

Stay up-to-date with Canvas: The page for teach-out side-by-side articulations is now published and available on Canvas. Please note: We will only publish finalized agreements as they are approved. This page will continue to be updated frequently over the next few weeks. If you don’t see a side-by-side articulation for your program, one is currently under development with an institution and awaiting formal approval. As a reminder, all programs will align with a teach-out institution.

Get to know local schools at the second Transfer Fair: Many colleges and universities, along with our teach-out partners, have been invited to participate in another Transfer Fair, which is dedicated to helping undergraduate and graduate students explore teach-out transfer opportunities and seamless transfer options. The fair will occur on Thursday, March 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Massry Center for the Arts. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and gather information from colleges and universities in the Capital Region and beyond. Stay tuned for details.

A reminder from the Registrar: Summer session I registration is open. Undergraduate courses are posted here, and graduate courses are posted here.

Transferring or graduating? You’ll need your immunization records! Please request a copy of your immunization records from Health Services today so you don’t have to wait to transfer them directly to another institution or employer. Please complete the Authorization to Release Immunization Records Form and submit it with a copy of your photo ID to healthservices@strose.edu or in person at the Counseling Center or Health Services office. Immunization records can be sent via email, fax, mail, or picked up in person at the Counseling Center located at 1006 Madison Avenue.

Hey, graduating seniors and grad students! Commencement is on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at the MVP Arena in Albany. We have put all of the information on our website so you can see the deadlines and steps you need to take to participate in Commencement and invite your family and friends. Look for the link to order your regalia. The deadline is March 15. This is also where you will RSVP for the ceremony. Tickets are not required, but we still need to know if you plan to attend. Please RSVP by April 7.

The countdown to commencement is on. Pick up your 2024 senior t-shirt plus a snack in the EAC Main Lounge on Friday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Monday, March 25, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Save the date for Pi(e) Day with UAlbany! Enjoy some pie and learn about the UAlbany School of Education’s programs at the Pi(e) Day School of Education Information Day on Thursday, March 14 (AKA 3.14…AKA pi!). Saint Rose education students are welcome to visit and learn more about the options available at UAlbany, one of our Teach-Out Partners. The event will be held on the UAlbany campus in the Pathways into Education (PIE) Center in Catskill 101 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Get your resume ready! The Office of Career Services and Human Resources are hosting a 2-day job fair on March 26 and March 27 from 1. to 4 p.m. in the Massry Center for the Arts. To register for all three events, log in to HireStrose and head to the Events page.

Soon-to-be grads, don’t forget to RSVP for the Lavender and ALANA Multicultural Stole ceremonies! If you’re graduating and want to represent your culture and community at the ceremony, RSVP for the Office of Inclusion and Engagement’s Multicultural and Lavender Stole Ceremonies by April 17. Any undergraduate or graduate students graduating this spring can participate. Invitations have been mailed to all graduating seniors. RSVP to the Lavender Ceremony here. Another important RSVP reminder. Invitations have been mailed for the National Society for Leadership and Success induction ceremony on Saturday, April 13, from noon to 2 p.m. in Saint Joseph’s Auditorium. Please RSVP by March 25.

Volunteers need! On March 22, the Joseph Henry Science Fair will return to Saint Rose. Students from grades 4-7 across the city who emerged victorious in their respective school science fairs will converge for a city-wide fair. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to ensure its success. Those interested in lending a hand are encouraged to contact Matt Woods at woodsm@strose.edu.

Avoiding Plagiarism: Do you find yourself confused about what constitutes plagiarism? The Writing Center is here to help! They’ve designed a new workshop to give you all the tools you’ll need to avoid accidental plagiarism in your academic work. Join them on Tuesday, February 6, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Academic Success Center, located on the second floor of Saint Joseph Hall. Sign up for the workshop here. Snacks will be provided!

Say cheese! As a special tribute to the remarkable legacy of The College of Saint Rose, our friends at iSmile Studios are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to have professional portraits taken on our beautiful campus. These portraits will serve as cherished mementos of the incredible community we have been a part of, the knowledge we have gained, and the connections we have formed. Sessions will be held on campus and are offered on select dates in April and May. While these sessions are traditionally offered to graduating students, any student can sign up to have their photos taken, either as individuals or as a group. Sign up for a session here. Here’s some more information on booking a session:

Caps and gowns, as well as various Saint Rose props, will be provided.
Portraits will be done both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. Portrait packages start at $99.
There is no fee to sign up as an individual student. If you would like to take group photos, the session fee is $100 per group; this fee can be paid at the time of booking.

Plant a flower to honor women’s success. Join the Student Association on Wednesday, March 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. on the campus green. In case of rain, the event will move to the EAC Main Lounge.

Self-care packages with the Student Association. Your friends in the SA will be holding a Self-Care Package program. Join them in the EAC Main Lounge on Thursday, March 14, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Happy Anniversary! Your SA will celebrate 50 years on Tuesday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join them in the EAC Main Lounge for snacks and prizes!

The Musical Theatre Club is back! Fans of all things musical theatre can join in on the fun every Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Campus Theatre. They’ll also release audition information for their Spring 2024 production soon, so keep an eye on this section!

Stay focused and positive with events at the Sanctuary: Unwind with weekly beginner-friendly yoga classes on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. And if you’re looking for support through community, check out the Happiness Groups meeting every Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 p.m., also in the Sanctuary. Your mental health matters. The College’s Counseling Center is always here for you when you need support, whatever that looks like. Follow the Center on Instagram for mental health and self-care tips at @csrcounselingctr! You can also learn more about the services offered by our counselors here. An important COVID-19 reminder: If you test positive for COVID with your own test, please email covidresults@strose.edu ASAP! Testing is also available in Health Services Monday through Friday.

Get support from the Albany County Crime Victim & Sexual Violence Center (CVSVC). The CVSVC supports and serves students who are victims/survivors of sexual assault, stalking, domestic violence, and other forms of interpersonal violence. Their free and comprehensive services include, but are not limited to: Title IX advocacy, referral services, counseling, and criminal advocacy to crime victims. Amanda Wingle, a representative from the Center, will be available to meet with students as a confidential resource in-person (or remotely) on Mondays 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Counseling Center. Students can email Alice directly at amange.wingle@albanycountyny.gov to schedule an appointment or simply drop in. All CVSVC services are confidential, meaning their advocates won’t contact the college or law enforcement without your explicit consent.

Student Association: Stay involved with the SA at their weekly meetings, held every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in MidKnight Eats.

Finding New Friends: Come de-stress and meet other students at this weekly meeting where you’ll be invited to prioritize calmness and joy. Activities include baking, arts and crafts, games, and whatever else you want to do to cultivate good vibes for the week. The group meets every Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Saint Rose Chronicle: Extra, extra! Ok, we know that’s corny, but if you’re interested in being Albany’s next great student journalist, the College’s newspaper meets every Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Hearst 121. Come check it out!

Saint Rose BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ): Formerly known as the Redeemed Christian Club, BASIC meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Interfaith Sanctuary.

Saint Rose Catholic Club: Meetings are held on Thursdays at 4:15 p.m. in the Interfaith Sanctuary. Come join them for food, fun, and fellowship!

Saint Rose TV: If you’re interested in broadcasting, working behind the scenes or in front of the camera, or filmmaking, this is the club for you. SRTV meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. in Hearst 121. No experience is needed, and all majors are welcome. If you have questions, please reach out to Cheyenne at sassinec964@strose.edu.

Yoga at the Sanctuary: Keep the good vibes flowing weekly with the Office of Spiritual Life’s weekly (beginner-friendly) in-person yoga class. Classes are Thursdays at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Just bring your mask and a yoga mat (or borrow one of ours!).

Saint Rose English Club: Our English club meets every Friday at 2 p.m. in Albertus 402. Come join the fun!
