Live Nation, House of Blues Foundation Awards Music Student With $10,000 Scholarship
Juliana Castrillon ’21 is committed to making a difference for women in the male-dominated music industry. Castrillon, a music industry student from Colombia, was one of only four students nationwide who received a $10,000 scholarship from Live Nation and House of Blues Music Forward Foundation, so she’s exceptionally positioned to take on the task.
In addition to that, she is a BOLD Women’s Leadership Scholar, which helps inform her desire to make change in an industry where women have been underrepresented.

Sara Biancosino ’17: Business Internship Leads to Career Touchdown
Behind the scenes for each football game, she books acts, ensures the cheerleaders and other entertainers are in place, produces videos, and handles social media.
A mere two years after graduating from Saint Rose, Sara Biancosino ’17, who majored in business administration with a concentration in marketing, is heading into her second NFL season with the Washington Redskins.
“As a transfer student in my sophomore year, I was afraid it would be difficult to find friends; but within a few weeks I made connections with people I still care for,” she says of her time at Saint Rose. “The personal relationships I developed mean more to me now than ever before, as each piece of advice has assisted me in my daily life.”
Maureen Conroy ’72: Using Math to Explore Space
In the 1970s, way before we’d heard of “big data,” Maureen Conroy ‘72 was writing programs to handle round-the-clock data feeds from space satellites. After trading in a plan to teach math for a love of space, she went on to use her math skills to design software for NASA’s most-powerful x-ray telescope.
Maureen was featured in the 2019 Spring Saint Rose Magazine. Watch a video showcasing her passion for space exploration here.
