The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) has once again named The College of Saint Rose to its 2023 Transfer Honor Roll for the sixth year in a row. This honor recognizes the dynamic pathways the College has created to support its transfer students throughout their time at Saint Rose.

Transfer Honor Roll 2023

Saint Rose joins 208 colleges and universities across the United States and 18 colleges in New York State in receiving this distinction. The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes four-year colleges and universities for their transfer friendliness, which is determined by their PTK Connect Transfer Profile, an online platform PTK students use to search for colleges. Colleges are chosen based on 40 key metrics related to the support and success of their transfer students, including cost, financial aid, campus life, admissions, and graduation rates.

“We are very pleased to be recognized by Phi Theta Kappa for our commitment to fostering academic excellence among transfer students,” says Michael Gole, assistant director of transfer admissions at Saint Rose. “This distinction highlights our dedication to providing a supporting, enriching educational environment for transfer students to excel in their educational journey.”

At Saint Rose, all PTK members receive an additional $1,000 a year in academic scholarships in addition to merit scholarships. The College also offers transfer students a number of opportunities to save time and money while furthering their education.

“The goal of most students attending community college is a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexities of the transfer process,” says Dr. Lynn Tincher-ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

The College’s Seamless Transfer program gives SUNY students in particular a leg up in continuing their degree at Saint Rose, allowing them to enroll with their liberal-education requirements already met.

“It’s important for us to serve all transfer students and we’re excited to work with PTK members. They have worked hard to gain this honor and it’s important to us to serve them,” says Sandra Battagliano, director of transfer enrollment at Saint Rose. “We’re happy to be recognized on the PTK Transfer Honor Roll for a sixth year!”

Transfer students from all academic backgrounds can also take advantage of the College’s Instant Decision Days, where students are able to receive on-demand credit evaluation and an admissions decision in one day.

“We pride ourselves in making sure transfer students are taken care of every step of the way and want to be a resource for them,” says Battagliano.
