Recognizing that students should feel they are getting enough value from their investment in higher education, The College of Saint Rose has launched 2-in-4 programs in which students are able to earn two degrees – an undergraduate degree in an assortment of majors and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or business analytics – in four years.

The accelerated program means students can save up to $12,000 on their undergraduate and graduate education. They also allow students to enter the workforce a year earlier than if they pursued these degrees following the traditional path.

To date, the bachelor’s degree pairings with the MBA include: business administration, business economics, communications, computer science, cybersecurity, finance, financial planning, information technology, management, marketing management, marketing: sales management, and mathematics. Pairings with the master’s degree in business analytics include: accounting, business economics, computer science, cybersecurity, finance, information technology, management: leadership concentration, management: sport management concentration, marketing: management concentration, marketing: sales management concentration, and mathematics.

The College has offered other accelerated options, such as the Psychology BS/MBA (3+1 Accelerated Dual Degree), and programs that are accelerated but require more time than four years, such as the B.S. Psychology and M.S.Ed. Counseling (3 + 2 Accelerated Dual Degree), B.S. Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD)/CSD M.S.Ed.ASPIRE (adolescence education and special education), B.S./M.S. Accounting, and others, for a number of years.

“We know that students and their families are making a significant investment when a student attends college,” said Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco. “At Saint Rose, we have always taken our role in that investment seriously, and we continuously strive to find new ways to make higher education affordable and obtainable for anyone with the will to succeed. These accelerated degree programs, which have been developed by the faculty, set a course for students to finish two degrees in four years, shortening their time to completion and reducing their tuition costs.”

Students can be accepted into the 2-in-4 accelerated program as first-year students, allowing them to tailor their coursework to meet the criteria for both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Although some summer and/or winter session courses are necessary for students to stay on track, Saint Rose has begun offering a wide catalog of courses during those sessions online. And the MBA classes can be taken in-person, via livestream, or later online with the opportunity to switch it up from week to week with our new Any Time, Any Way MBA program.

According to U.S. News & World Report, “Compensation projections published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers predict that the average starting salary for MBA grads in the class of 2019 will be $84,580 – more than $25,000 higher than the average starting salary projection for grads with a bachelor’s degree in business.”

Students can be admitted to the 2-in-4 accelerated programs for Fall 2020.
