Social Work at The College of Saint Rose

If you are someone who feels the call to aid those who need guidance during difficult transitions in their lives, the Saint Rose social work program will prepare you for a career as a human service professional.
According to Occupational Outlook Quarterly (Spring 2000, p.15), employment in the field of social work will grow much faster than average, driven by an aging population and a wider array of needed services. After earning your degree in social work from Saint Rose, you will hold the title of Beginning Generalist Social Work Practitioner-and you will be immediately employable. In fact, 100% of the graduates from our program who seek employment have accepted jobs in their field within weeks of graduation.

THE SAINT ROSE DIFFERENCE
The social work program at Saint Rose offers a multidisciplinary approach with courses in areas such as psychology, biology and sociology. You will prepare for a career as a social worker by developing critical skills in assessment of and intervention with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. The social work faculty members strongly emphasize lifelong learning and ongoing professional development outside of class-related activities. You will have the opportunity to not only be a learner, but also a trainer of your peers.
