B.A. Interdepartmental Studies (Mathematics/Business)
Senior Director of Strategic Programs
SI Group, Inc.
Adam has held the position of Director, Strategic Programs, for SI Group since 2001, where he leads an active mergers & acquisitions effort. His career at SI Group, which began in 1991, has seen him rise through various positions in international and domestic sales and in purchasing before his current role as Director. During his tenure with SI Group, the company has grown from a multi-national firm to a global business with nearly two billion dollars in turnover. While working at SI Group, Adam attended Albany Law School and received a Master of Legal Studies degree in 2006.
After graduating from Saint Rose, Adam served in the United States Navy on active duty from 1985 to 1988, and as a Drilling Reservist from 1988 to 1995. While in the Reserves, he served as the Commanding Officer of two Naval Reserve Units from 1991 to 1995. During his time in the Navy Reserve, he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
When I arrived at Saint Rose… friendships formed easily and professors quickly became mentors. The community [at the College] promotes values that helped steer me to make some good choices and I was sent on my way better prepared for what was to come.
In the community, Adam now serves as the Chairman of the Board Development Committee of the Guilderland Branch YMCA. He has also served on the Board of the Capital District YMCA. Additionally, has served on the Board of Advisors for the Schenectady Salvation Army and is a former board member of the Saint Rose Alumni Association.
Adam’s ambition was demonstrated early during his time at Saint Rose, where he was a member of the Men’s Soccer Team and Captain of the Men’s Baseball Team. Adam has stressed how the education he received at Saint Rose allowed him to work and learn confidently alongside many other successful professionals in a variety of settings: “When I arrived at Saint Rose… friendships formed easily and professors quickly became mentors. The community [at the College] promotes values that helped steer me to make some good choices and I was sent on my way better prepared for what was to come. I acquired a first-class education at the College. Many of my classmates in the Navy came from the Ivy League, large universities, top engineering schools and the service academies. At no time did I ever feel anything but academically prepared for everything they had to throw at me. When I left active duty and entered Business School, again I was among classmates who had come from many larger brand-name universities. I was at no disadvantage in that setting, or later on when I attended Law School. I am very pleased and proud to continue to count myself a member of that same Saint Rose community.”
