Professional Experience

Prior to coming to The College of Saint Rose, I spent 13 years as Senior Economist, Director of Research, and President & Chief Executive Officer at the American Institute for Economic Research in Great Barrington, MA. I have also taught at Truman State University and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. I serve on The College’s Liberal Education Inclusive Excellence Committees, as well as faculty advisor to Fed Challenge team and Omicron Delta Epsilon. My community service includes serving on the Berkshire Hills Regional School Board and the Finance Committee for the Town Of Stockbridge.

Teaching Interests

Teaching students to use data to solve real-problems rather than simply learn hypothetical models.

Research/Creative Works

My research focuses on helping people understand how economics is useful in explaining real-world issues. Currently working on a paper that shows how pricing affects incentives and the disposal of solid waste and a paper on Trump’s refugee policy as it relates to Type I and II errors.
