sales program

The College of Saint Rose’s BS in Sales Management program has made strides since it launched in Fall 2020. The first of its kind in New York State, the program is now being recognized for the second year in a row as a Top North American Sales School by the Sales Education Foundation (SEF).

The Sales Education Foundation promotes the benefits of a sales education in both academia and the corporate world. Saint Rose was among 158 colleges and universities in the United States and 18 internationally to receive the honor.

“Our program prepares students to enter the sales profession confident in their selling and negotiation skills and able to cultivate effective relationships with clients,” said Mark Michalisin, sales professional in residence. “I’m proud of what this program has achieved over such a short period of time and honored to make the list among other notable colleges and universities.”

Saint Rose is the only College in New York State to offer a sales major and minor. Since its inception, it has established a sales organization and competed in several sales competitions. Students enrolled in the program take personal selling, negotiation and conflict resolution, sales management and leadership, and retail management courses and participate in required internships.

The program sets students up for success in the real world. Median annual wages for sales representatives vary by specialty, but according to the U.S. Bureau for Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for sales managers in 2020 was $132,290. Additionally, the median annual wage for wholesale and manufacturing sales representatives was $65,420.

“I’m excited about the future of the sales management program at Saint Rose. This recognition as a Top North American Sales School by the Sales Education Foundation (SEF) is a testament to the faculty and students who have worked hard to make the program special,” said Dr. Raj Aroskar, dean of the Huether School of Business.
