Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco

Each November, one day on our calendars reminds us to thank our veterans, who have served our country selflessly, both at home and abroad. Here at The College of Saint Rose, we are proud of the many veterans we count among our community of students, alums, employees, and friends.

In that spirit, I am pleased that we are featuring in this newsletter a profile of veteran Tim McAuley ’01, Ph.D., a former Radioman for the U.S. Navy (1993 to 1997), who has spent the last decade of his civilian career continuing to serve by protecting the environment. His firm helps clients around the world find sustainable solutions for their environmental challenges. Tim is also a longtime member of our Board of Associates and is dedicated to seeing his alma mater grow and thrive. We are grateful for his service, both as a veteran and as an alum.

At Saint Rose, we continue to find ways to ensure that our veterans, service members, and military family members feel welcome – from the Veteran Center, to the Veteran Residence, to our chapter of the Student Veterans of America. We are happy to have earned the designation of Military Friendly School from Victory Media for a decade, including the No. 1 ranking for four consecutive years among private colleges not offering a doctorate. To ensure we maintain our place among top institutions for our military affiliated students, we continually solicit the guidance of our Veteran Advisory Council to confirm we are doing everything we can to make a true home for these admirable members of our community.

I hope the lives of these many brave individuals, and the creative and wonderful ways in which they continue to give of themselves, inspire all of us to thank and honor them, not only on Veterans Day, but throughout the year.

Best Wishes,

Carolyn
