The College of Saint Rose campus bookstore will be under new management this fall. After a survey of the campus community on bookstore needs, a committee of faculty, students, staff, and administrators selected Barnes & Noble College (BNC) to oversee course material, retail, and online operations.

BNC is a leading operator of college bookstores in the United States with over 770 campus bookstores and school-branded e-commerce sites, serving more than 6 million college students and faculty nationwide.

“The academic success of our students is paramount. It was critical for the College to select a bookstore vendor who would be sensitive to price point, ensuring access to course materials for all students,” said Saint Rose President Marcia White. “We also appreciate the wide variety of affordable Saint Rose apparel and other items BNC will bring to campus, so that our students, families, employees, and alumni can show their Saint Rose pride in style. We look forward to welcoming BNC as our new partner this fall.”

The affordability of course materials and Saint Rose-branded merchandise was a key factor in the College’s selection of BNC. The company has the industry’s largest inventory of affordable physical and digital course materials backed by a price-match program and convenient options for ordering and receiving materials, such as in-store pickup or delivery.

Faculty will gain access to the market-leading BNC Adoption & Insights Portal (AIP), which allows them to easily research and submit affordable course material selections.

BNC’s relationship with Fanatics and Lids will allow the bookstore to offer the latest styles in Saint Rose apparel and other merchandise at a price point accessible to students, families, and alumni. The products will be available in store and online through a user-friendly, personalized website and mobile app.

During the transition, the bookstore will close on June 16 to allow BNC to refresh the space and will reopen by June 28.

“We are very excited to partner with The College of Saint Rose as its new bookstore operator,” said Jeff Miller, vice president of strategic partnerships for Barnes & Noble College. “We support Saint Rose’s mission of providing students with rigorous educational experiences and look forward to offering a wide range of academic solutions and a seamless retail experience that will help to drive success for students in the classroom and beyond.”
