Women’s Soccer Team Makes It to NCAA Final Four

The Golden Knights women’s soccer team may not have won their NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament Final Four match-up against Grand Valley State last week in Pittsburgh. But the Golden Knights won the respect of anyone who watched the hard-fought match, and of course, they already had our hearts at Saint Rose.

The College of Saint Rose had its historic season come to a close with today’s 3-2 NCAA National Semifinal loss to Grand Valley State at Highmark Stadium. Grand Valley State went on to win the national championship, their sixth since 2009.

In addition to being this year’s Northeast-10 champions, this year marked the 15th time in 18 years that the Golden Knights have been in the NCAA Division II National Championship hunt. Saint Rose is now 28-12-5 all-time in NCAA Tournament contests. This year marks the program’s seventh national semifinal appearance, joining the elite company of the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 squads. In 2011, they became the College’s first team to win a NCAA championship.
