Brian Xavier Willis ’15: Bringing his Saint Rose Experiences to Compassionate Law Enforcement

After Brian Xavier Willis ’15, who majored in criminal justice, behavior, and law, received his bachelor’s degree, he took a couple of semesters of graduate courses at Saint Rose in mental health counseling. Today, as a police officer in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, he uses the skills he learned in those classes when he encounters people in crisis.

“I’ll ask, ‘What’s going on in your life?’ and find out what they’re dealing with, and then start getting more specific,” he said. “We learned this at Saint Rose.”
