Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco

In this season of giving, I reflect on how fortunate we are at Saint Rose to experience the generosity of our alumni and friends of the College all year long.

Our gifts are many, and in November, I used the same oversized scissors that cut the ribbon on the Veteran Residence, made possible by the generosity of the Massry Family, for the dedication of the Honorable Loretta A. Preska ’70 Mock Trial Courtroom. This courtroom now serves as the home “court” for the College’s mock trial team, which also bears Judge Preska’s name. Preska earned her degree in chemistry and also found a passion for law at Saint Rose. Thanks to her unflagging support, and the contributions of many others, visitors can walk into Albertus Hall 103 and feel like they have stepped into a court of law.

Our brand at Saint Rose is “HOME,” and having spaces on campus that create meaningful living and learning opportunities is essential to realizing that promise in the lives of our students. We are thankful to the donors who ensured that the projects I have just described were completed. We are also deeply grateful to those who participated in our recent #GivingTuesday. Thanks to the desire by so many to give back to Saint Rose, we raised $64,567 on November 27 to support student scholarships.

As we prepare to close for the holiday break, we want you to know how much we appreciate everyone in our Saint Rose community. We wish you all the joys of the season, and we are thankful for the ways you support our mission and our community.

Best wishes,

Carolyn
