President Marcia White sent the following message to students and employees today (April 25, 2022):

Dear students/employees,

When masks became optional inside College buildings on March 7, it was with the caveat that a return to masking may be advised if the Capital Region or Albany County reached a high community transmission classification as defined by the CDC.

Albany County has now reached a high community transmission level, and the county issued a health advisory on Monday strongly encouraging that all residents, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public when indoors.

As a result, effective as of this message, the College is strongly encouraging that masks be worn inside College buildings unless you are eating/drinking or occupying a residence hall room or office alone.

Albany County also encouraged eligible residents to receive the full series of the COVID-19 vaccine, and we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the College is requiring students and employees to receive the COVID-19 booster shot by June 30 unless you have been granted an exemption. Vaccines are free and easily accessible at local pharmacies and through the county health department. Those who have received their booster but still need to let us know should email a photo of their vaccine card to covidresults@strose.edu.  (Employees should send their results to hrtesting@strose.edu).

Our priority remains the safety and well-being of the entire Saint Rose community. Stay encouraged, and let’s do our part to look out for each other and the dear neighbor.

Sincerely,

Marcia White
President
The College of Saint Rose
