The College of Saint Rose encourages graduate and undergraduate students to participate in the 13th annual Student Research Symposium on April 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Undergraduate students also have the chance to enter their poster to be judged for the Sister Katherine McPeak Library Undergraduate Research Scholarship. First- and second-place entries from the  two categories of Math and Sciences and Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences will win the scholarship. First place will win $300, and second place will receive $200.

The campus community and general public are encouraged to visit the symposium on April 12 and view the student work.

Undergraduate students also will have another opportunity to participate in the Undergraduate Research Grant program for summer 2022. The purpose of the grant is to provide students with a cash stipend and on campus housing if needed, to allow students to stay on campus and conduct research over the summer for six weeks. To participate, students must submit a proposal by 4 p.m. April 1.

Proposals must include:

  • The proposals title and a detailed description of the work executed (Provide a weekly timeline for the summer’s activities and the proposed project conclusion date.)
  • A discussion of how the research will relate to your future plans and your current area of study
  • A letter of support from the supervising faculty member (A form outlining the requirements for this letter will be available for download from Sharepoint; see note below.)
  • Specify whether or not you will need housing
  • Your name, College ID number, major, and preferred snail mail and email address, as you will need to be reached for the Undergraduate Research selection panel’s decision
