Undergraduate and graduate students and emerging professionals will get advice from a panel of human resource professionals on how to navigate communication in the workplace, from interviewing skills to important on-the-job tips, during the third “Beyond the Books” workshop for students and emerging professionals on February 24 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

During “Beyond the Books: Conquering Communication in the Workplace,” panelists will answer questions about giving and receiving feedback, the importance of eye contact, and networking. Panelists will provide applicable tips for establishing and maintaining appropriate communication skills in the workplace.

This event is being held through a partnership between Saint Rose and the New York UpState Black Chamber of Commerce. It is also co-sponsored by Project THRIVE.

Benjamin Seymour

Benjamin Seymour, HR manager for the Lansingburgh Central School District

Benjamin Seymour is the HR manager for the Lansingburgh Central School District, in Troy, New York, where he oversees full-cycle recruitment and employee relations for a district of 475 employees. He has over 10 years of experience in public sector labor relations and human resources. He is a Ph.D. candidate in public administration and policy at Old Dominion University, where his research has focused on issues related to public sector personnel.
