Helping Hands Food Drive raises more than $1,800 in items to support Emergency Meal Bag Program

A Helping Hands Food Drive was held recently to allow students the opportunity to donate unused Dining Dollars to an important cause.

Donated items support a new effort to end food insecurity – the Emergency Meal Bag program. Students donated their leftover Dining Dollars toward the purchase of items that support the program.

The meals bags are provided to the Saint Rose community – students or employees – at their request. And each meal bag contains enough supplies for three meals each: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As of April 30, students had donated $1,815 in nonperishable items for the Emergency Meal Bag program. The effort continues through the week.
