First Saint Rose graduating class in 1924 and two graduates at commencement in 2017.

A message from Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco:

International Women’s Day is a time to speak out for change and to celebrate the achievements of women. I am proud to lead an institution that since its founding in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet has advanced women, opening its doors so they could have access to a private college education in the same landmark year that women won the right to vote across the country. Today, we continue that important work of raising the next generation of women leaders, who go into the world and make a difference, whether it is in a laboratory, classroom, courtroom, or in the day-to-day life of their communities. As a scholar of women’s history, it is exciting to know The College of Saint Rose holds a key role in shaping a new chapter for women, one in which they are empowered to exercise their creativity and passion to improve circumstances for all.
