Spring Drama 2016“Circle Mirror Transformation” takes the audience on a journey through the mundane into the profound. In the artsy small town of Shirley, Vermont, an unlikely collection of strangers gathers in a dance studio for Marty’s “Adult Creative Drama” class: a recently divorced and emotionally vulnerable carpenter, a reserved and self-conscious high school junior, an earnest and vibrant former actress, and Marty’s quiet and genial husband. Unfolding like a charmingly funny indie film, the group plays Marty’s imaginative – and sometimes awkward – theater games. But as their relationships develop over the course of the summer, the seemingly silly games generate some real-life drama.

This delightful comedy landed on the Top Ten lists of The New York Times and The New Yorker for 2010. Four years later, Baker won a Pulitzer for “The Flick.”
