The Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary---Defining the College’s Founding Values

The Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary with its natural wood and interior garden (even with a bubbling lily pond) is a place of prayer, meditation, celebration and worship for people of all religious traditions. Completed in 1997, its location at the heart of our campus is a concrete symbol of the College’s deep commitment to interfaith understanding and dialogue, an extension of the values of the College’s founders, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet. It is also home to the Office of Spiritual Life which encourages students of all faiths to explore their values especially in the service of others. Reach Out Saint Rose (the College’s day of volunteerism), the College’s Sunday evening liturgy, and programs such as Tuesdays at the Sanctuary, all provide students with opportunities to find meaning and purpose in their lives.
