Most memorable time in Grad School: Meetings with my mentor to discuss topics covered in class, research interests or my future professional and career goals

Favorite Class in Grad School: Research Methods – it teaches you how to think logically. The class helps you frame a problem, research the issues, and develop a solution much as you would do in a job. It is a great course and one that has helped me often in my career.

Favorite Capital Region restaurant: Tied for first place – Fairy Sezchuan and Juniors

Why do you work at Saint Rose?: Saint Rose is a wonderful institution with the most caring and dedicated faculty. To me, that is most important since my graduate program faculty and especially my mentor had a profound impact on me – educationally and professionally. The College is special and I encourage students to visit, tour campus, meet with faculty and learn why ambitious and talented students call Saint Rose – Home.

Professional Experience: Prior to joining St. Rose, I worked with students in the independent school landscape. In addition to my background in education management and admissions, I have experience in sales management as well as learning and development. One of my greatest passions is providing students the opportunity to grow through a rigorous, yet supportive, learning environment.

College: Assumption University in Worcester, MA and State University of New York at Albany

College Major(s)/Program(s): B.A. in Sociology and Psychology, M.S. in Education Policy and Leadership

Most memorable time in Grad School: Some of my most memorable moments of graduate school were the small group discussions of our readings and application of theory. Graduate School encourages you to take a deep dive into content and theory, and that is where rich, thoughtful and curious conversations develop and permeate.

Favorite Class in Grad School: Organizational Leadership stands out to me as a favorite. In this class, we discovered the significance of leadership styles and the impediments to effective leadership. The class was also framed around the theory and application of stoicism. Until graduate school, I had never thought of leadership within this framework. Those discussions were invaluable to shaping my leadership philosophy to this day.

Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, exploring art shows and museums, Yoga, anything design-related; especially interior, fashion and architectural.

Favorite Book: On the Road by Jack Kerouac

Favorite Capital Region restaurant: This varies as so many new restaurants have opened in the region. Currently, Solevo in Saratoga Springs – they have the best meatballs around!

Favorite place in the Capital Region: Bolton Landing

Favorite vacation spot: Europe or anywhere that has an authentic food and art scene to explore; I hope to visit every continent!

Why do you work at Saint Rose?: St. Rose is a close-knit community that instills the importance of being a life-long learner. I believe this is the foundation of an exceptional educational experience that will serve as a blueprint for professional and personal peaks and valleys. Offering this experience to graduate students makes working at St. Rose very meaningful to me. I encourage everyone to come feel the magic for themselves!
