Where?

Washington, D.C.

What did we do while we are there?

Volunteered: We volunteered at a number of meal programs that serve those living in poverty and those who are homeless.

Education: We attended seminars that helped us learn more about the issues with which we are involved – homelessness, hunger, poverty and affordable housing.  We will also considered the larger concerns that affect the lives those who are poor – the social justice context beyond the immediate need for shelter and food.

Advocacy: We visited the offices of our elected officials and spoke to them about the needs of those who are poor that we would like them to make a priority.

Had Fun in Washington DC: In the midst of all the hard work we also had fun.  It was a great chance to get to know an awesome group of people AND to see the sights in our nation’s Capital.

Stay tuned for information on our next adventure!
