Some answers to our most common questions regarding our New Student and Family Orientation sessions.

Is New Student and Family Orientation required?

Yes! In order for The College of Saint Rose to best meet your needs as an incoming student, you need to attend one New Student and Family Orientation session.  It provides opportunities for you to meet other students, register for classes, learn about the campus and the many opportunities it has to offer, find out where to go for help, meet with faculty and staff, and have a chance to become acquainted with our campus.

How do I register?

Once you’ve made your deposit, you’re able to register online at: https://onlineforms.strose.edu/orientation. You’ll need your student ID number and the names and email addresses of any guests attending New Student and Family Orientation with you.

Should I bring a family member?

We do offer specific presentations and activities for parents and guardians where they will have an opportunity to learn about their students’ academic path, meet other parents, and learn about the different opportunities and areas of assistance on campus for their student.  While it is not required for parents or guardians to attend New Student and Family Orientation, it is highly recommended.

Is there a specific New Student and Family Orientation session I should attend?

The New Student and Family Orientation sessions are open to all first-year students in July. Please select the date that best fits your schedule. While we offer one session in late August, it is primarily reserved for international and mid-west/west coast students.

What is the schedule for the New student and Family Orientation session?

Please note that New Student and Family Orientation is an overnight program which begins with registration at 8:00am on Day 1 and concludes by 12:30pm on Day 2.  You’ll be provided a customized schedule of events when you arrive at New Student and Family Orientation Day.
