Please encourage students and alumni to take advantage of the numerous services, programs and resources available to them as they choose majors, search for jobs and internships, or research career and graduate school options. Integrate Career Center presentations and assignments into class curriculum and become familiar with our online career management system with job/internship opportunities, events, and career-related resources.
HireStRose Job/Internship Search Portal: HireStRose is the Career Center’s career management system with job and internship opportunities; employer, event, and recruiting information; plus other career-related resources for our students/alumni and employers.
Classroom/Group Presentations The Career Center is available to make presentations to classes and student organizations. Topics include an overview of our services, programs and resources, as well as a variety of career-related topics (e.g. graduate school, interviewing, job & internship search, LinkedIn, resume and cover letters, plus more).
Career Related Assignments We encourage you to think about ways to integrate career-related activities, that encourage use of the Career Center, into your classroom curriculum. Each semester faculty assign students to stop by the Career Center to learn about our services, programs and resources, take one of our career-related assessments, attend a Career Center program or event, have their resume and cover letter critiqued, and/or participate in a mock interview.
The Career Center partners with Interfolio, a web-based credential management service, to provide self-managed 24/7 online access to student/alumni accounts. This service provides account holders and their recommenders the ability to mail or upload documents, plus more.
The Career Center provides advising and resources to students who have not declared a major, who are considering changing their major, and those who need more information about career options related to their major. Services include appointments and walk-ins, career planning, career-related programs, online career resources, and networking resources.
Students are encouraged to gain experience related to their career goals and interests. We provide assistance to students seeking part-time and full-time positions, summer jobs, paid and unpaid internships, and volunteer opportunities. Our online system, HireStRose, provides access to job and internship listings for students and alumni both locally and nationally. In addition to HireStRose, we also provide students with other services to assist in obtaining experience and employment.
Students can meet with our staff by scheduling appointments via Navigate to develop their resume and job search correspondence. Through our recruiting program, students and alumni can connect with employers through information sessions, resume collections, and interviewing opportunities. The Career Center also utilizes social media to help connect students and alumni with networking opportunities and career-related information. Career Center mock interviews allow students and alumni to practice interviewing skills. Each spring graduating education students participate in Education Expo, a job and networking event, which connects students and alumni with education-related employers.
The Career Center provides graduate/professional school advising, as well as print and electronic resources:
