B.A. History & Political Science
Legislative Director
New York State Assembly

Albany, NY

Vincent Rossetti '14Vincent Rossetti, a Saint Rose history and political science major, once struck up a conversation in the campus fitness center with a professor who offered to meet with him to discuss a history paper for another professor’s class. But then, Rossetti constantly had discussions in and outside the classroom that stoked his enthusiasm for history and government.

When he graduated in 2014, magna cum laude, Rossetti had been recognized as the Outstanding Senior in History and Political Science. He had won an award for writing one of the top research papers of all 122 college students who took part in an internship with the state Assembly. And, right after graduation, he netted a job as committee clerk and legislative assistant to Assembly member Kevin A. Cahill (D-103,) whom he had interned for. Rossetti helps run the Assembly’s Insurance Committee, tracks legislation and drafts laws. Someday he might run for office himself. It all started on the Saint Rose campus.

“I was fortunate to meet some of the most amazing professors, who were not only great instructors, but acted as mentors and friends outside of the classroom,” says Rossetti. “I certainly attribute a large part of my successes to these educators and the many days spent together in Albertus Hall.”
