Meet Dr. Carolyn J. Stefanco, president of The College of Saint Rose, and hear her presentation on the importance of international students to U.S. higher education and how international students can take full advantage of their time in the United States while studying there. About President Stefanco:

Saint Rose President Carolyn J. StefancoDr. Carolyn J. Stefanco joined The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, as its 11th president in 2014 after serving as vice president for academic affairs at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds leadership roles in American higher education organizations, and her academic research focuses on women and leadership.

Globally and nationally, Stefanco is chair of the board of trustees at the American University in Bulgaria, a board member of the International Leadership Association, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, and a member of the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network Executive Council (WNEC). In the Capital Region, she serves on the boards of Albany Medical Center, Hearst’s Women@Work, and the Center for Economic Growth. For her visionary leadership, Stefanco was recently awarded a Helen Gurley Brown Genius Grant, and the College was invited to join the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network and given a grant of $1.1 million to benefit women student leaders.

Stefanco earned her Ph.D. in history from Duke University, a master’s degree in women’s history from Binghamton University, and a bachelor’s degree in history, as well as a certificate in women’s studies, from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
