The Geology program focuses on the Earth: its resources, physical components, processes, and history.

As a Geology major, you’ll study mineralogy and petrology, aqueous systems, and tectonics, among other topics. Electives cover such areas as glaciers, climate change, and petroleum geology. The classroom, laboratory, and hands-on field work focus on current issues and needs.

The Geology major prepares a student for a position in industry, government, or for graduate studies requiring a background in earth sciences.
