Professional Experience

Dr. Kibis concentrated on the treatment of biological diseases, especially on breast cancer, where he developed mathematical models for providing the best breast cancer treatment policies for cancer patients. He also focused on data mining methods to predict the survivability of breast cancer patients and the recurrence of the disease.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Kibis has experience in teaching operations research and statistics before joining The College of Saint Rose.

He is the faculty member who will be leading the College’s new master’s degree program in Business Analytics.

Fun fact:
While still a graduate student at Wichita State University, Dr. Kibis organized Turkish cooking classes and worked with some other Turkish students to create the Young Educators Society, offering additional math and science courses to middle and high school students.

Research/Creative Works

Dr. Kibis’ research interests include mathematical programming models, large-scale optimization approaches and data mining methods for biological diseases and cancer.
