The following are excerpts from thank you letters from student recipients of endowed scholarships to their benefactors.

Your generosity and commitment is exactly the kind of community involvement we need to keep The College of Saint Rose going strong. The many scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities at the College are a testament to the support of the alumni, family, and friends of the College. Your philanthropy has expanded the opportunities available to enhance the lives of the next generation. This support makes higher education possible for so many students, and with that comes the key to all other successes.

I am truly thankful for your gift to The College of Saint Rose. Your contribution has helped me and my family significantly. In a society where it is easy to lose sight of education as a blessing and a gift, I would like you to know that I am thankful for each class and every opportunity to grow, not only as a writer but, as an individual. Thank you for investing in my future and for seeing the potential of The College of Saint Rose to inspire and to foster successful students.

Thank you very much for your support. I would not have the same access to an amazing education that provides great opportunities for learning and growth if it were not for your generosity. I am now reaching my last semester at Saint Rose and I can truly express how wonderful this experience has been. I believe that I have grown and changed so much over the last four years because my professors have stretched my experiences and abilities, and I have met many people who have positively influenced who I am today. Saint Rose is a great school, especially for Art Education, and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to attend this college. Thank you.

Stephanie Hewett `14, Gladys Brooks Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund for Art Students

I am honored to have received both the Monsignor Delaney Alumni Family Scholarship as well as the Ursula Casey Smith `24 Endowed Scholarship, both allow me to continue my career at Saint Rose. I try in both my academics and other areas to live up to the legacy the Ursula Smith has left and I hope to become an active, generous alumna someday. Thank you to the Smith Family and The College of Saint Rose Alumni Association for making my journey here at Saint Rose possible and making my future even brighter.

I want to thank you for your generous gift that made my education attainable. Through your support, I have accomplished much of what I never thought possible. I am proud to say I had worked hard to be where I am, but I certainly could not have done it without your help. I am forever grateful for your generosity.

I am so very grateful to have been given the opportunity to immerse myself in all aspects of college life, because of wonderful scholarships such as this. I take great pride in all that I do here at Saint Rose and for the direction my experience has provided me. I hope to become a high school special education teacher and eventually receive a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, but this first step towards my dreams would not have been possible without the generosity of the Kathleen Havern Memorial Scholarship.
