Each year, the Albany Business Review selects 40 innovative and dynamic business people, under the age of 40, from a range of industries throughout the region. The award is quite competitive: This year’s nominations numbered more than 400. The Review will recognize the recipients in a special edition and at a luncheon at the Albany Capital Center on May 11.

Saint Rose alumni are no stranger to the awards, having appeared in the honorees’ ranks year after year. Recognized for the 2018 awards are:

Schuyler Bull ’10, BS/MBA, Business Administration. Owner, Fort Orange General Store
Former assistant director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District and director of marketing for the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Bull is an experienced business and marketing professional as well as staunch Saint Rose supporter. “I was honored to be nominated by a Saint Rose administrator for the Albany Business Review’s ‘40 under 40’ award,” he said. “It’s a true testament to the lifelong connections that Saint Rose fosters and of the supportive community who truly care for one another as family. As an alum, I’m still proud to call Saint Rose my HOME.”

Daniel Cancelliere G’05, MBA, Business Administration. Senior Vice President of Retail Banking, Pioneer Bank
Cancelliere, who began his banking career as a vice president at HSBC in 2004, served as a vice president at First Niagara Bank before joining Pioneer Bank in 2014. He moved up the ranks there, becoming senior vice president of retail banking in February 2018. “The MBA program at The College of Saint Rose was instrumental in providing me the knowledge and insight that I would need to achieve success in the financial industry. To this day, I draw on the many important lessons learned and apply them in my current role,” he said. “I am proud to represent such an outstanding institution. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The College of Saint Rose.”

Jordan R. (Glindmyer) Yanatos ‘09, BS, Criminal Justice, Behavior, and Law. Owner, Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge
Yanatos, whose original career plan was to become an attorney, changed direction after graduation and decided to explore her creativity through hair styling. She opened Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge in Schenectady, began specializing in rainbow-hued “mermaid hair,” and has enjoyed considerable client acclaim and media attention ever since. This summer, she will be featured in “The Look All Stars” on the national CW Television Network.
