Saint Rose President Carolyn J. Stefanco
Our recent weeks have been filled with moments of celebration and moments of remembrance, as we welcomed alumni and the family members of students to a successful HOME.COMING & Family Weekend, and later grieved the passing of Morris Massry, a longtime supporter of Saint Rose.

These events have brought to mind legacy. More than 42,000 alumni have left their own legacies at Saint Rose simply by being our students and then, as graduates, making an impact in their professions, through their families, and on their communities while remaining rooted in the values that drew them to Saint Rose and were nurtured on our campus.

During a time when reports of senseless violence driven by hate inundate the news, beautiful legacies like those of our alumni and the late Morris Massry, who received an honorary doctor of humane letters from the College in 2004, become a source of hope and inspiration. There are few places and populations at Saint Rose that the Massry Family, with Morris at the head, have not touched. We see his impact in the Huether School of Business, the Science Center, the Plumeri Sports Complex, and the Massry Center for the Arts, and you will read more in this newsletter about the Massry Family’s support for our student veterans.

Each one of us at Saint Rose hopes to leave our own legacy of positive impact on our students. It is a critical role we play, for they are the ones we count upon to create a more peaceful and tolerant world to call home.

As always, thank you for your support of Saint Rose.

Best wishes,

Dr. Carolyn J. Stefanco
