President Carolyn J. Stefanco knows what it is like to be the first person in a family to attend college – because she was. She recalls stepping onto the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder without any sort of roadmap for what should happen next. She figured it all out on her own.

Stefanco outlined five ways Saint Rose is meeting first-generation students’ needs in a recent essay for eCampus News, an online education technology publication.
