Saint Rose Trustee Hai Ling ’93, co-president, Asia-Pacific, at Mastercard, visited our campus for an armchair conversation with President Carolyn J. Stefanco to mark the 2019 Peter M. Tully Lecture on October 17.

During his talk, he shared some important words of wisdom for our students, including the need to take risks and to explore other cultures through travel.

2010s

Christine Myers ’19 placed first in the Hudson-Mohawk Marathon 2019 (Albany, New York) with a time of 2:48:15, a lead of nearly three seconds. She is currently at Vermont Law School earning her J.D.

Emily Mitchell ’18 has been contracted by Facebook’s music business development team to help strengthen the bond between Facebook and music publishers while also providing operational support. “Moving from a small independent publisher to one of the biggest companies in the world has been challenging – but rewarding!”

Nerys Jimenez Pichardo ’17 is a full-time software developer for New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) in Albany, as well as an adjunct faculty for computer science at Saint Rose.

Anna Miceli ’16 has begun working as Manager, Rights Management Operations at Downtown Music.

Lionel Nichols ’15 started his own fashion brand, Mario&Lee, in New York City. “I recently presented my clothing in the stitched charity fashion show. I also put my own fashion show together in a gallery in midtown NYC on October 5.”

Jermaine A. Brookshire ’13, J.D., passed the Connecticut Bar Exam (on his first attempt) and is a corporate associate at Wiggin and Dana LLP (New Haven, Connecticut).

Maria Sanchez Gonzalez ’13 ran in (and completed) the New York City Marathon on November 3.

Suzelle Zamor ’12 is director of the New York State Liberty Partnerships Program at Farmingdale State College, where she is also an adjunct faculty member.

Ben Lamb G’11 was in the news for running for a fourth term on the City Council of North Adams, Massachusetts.

Justin Nadeau ’10 was one of several property owners interviewed in an article about investing in multi-family homes in the Capital Region, in the Albany Business Journal.

2000s

Adam Debus ’08, G’12 recently relocated, along with his fiance, to California to take on a new challenge as a staff site reliability engineer for LinkedIn.

Vincent R. Leone G’07, G’08 was named coordinator of funded programs for the Brentwood Union Free School District (Brentwood, New York). He was most recently program coordinator for Long Island at Eastern Suffolk BOCES; before that, he had served as a middle-school special-education teacher, a middle-school dean of students, and an IEP teacher for the New York City school system.

Kenya Vanterpool G’05 was named assistant principal of South Middle School for the Brentwood Union Free School District (Brentwood, New York). He has worked as a social worker and administrator for a number of schools on Long Island for the last 15 years.

Kristin Pew Vaddiraja ’00 was named manager at BST & Co. CPAs, LLP.

1980s

Tracie Killar ’86 was honored with the Vaughan Family Changemaker Award for her work as executive director of the South End Children’s Café in Albany, New York. She was also featured in multiple articles over the past few months, including stories in the Spotlight News, the Albany Business Review, and the Times Union.

Laura Hartmann ’85, a manager of jazz musicians and an adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz, ran for a seat on the Town Board of Ulster in Ulster, New York.

1970s

Diana Durham G’77, Ph.D., has begun working as a strategic advisor to the Center for Continuing Medical Education at Stanford University’s School of Medicine (Los Angeles, California).

Join Us for Holiday Cheer, or We’ll See You in Syracuse for Some Basketball

Join your fellow alums for a Holiday Happy Hour on December 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Massry Center for the Arts at Saint Rose! It’s the perfect start to the season. Registration includes appetizers, a hot chocolate station, and a bar ticket (cash bar after). Register in advance for $15 or pay $20 at the door.

The Esther Massry Gallery will be open late so you can enjoy the Karene Faul Alumni Show at no additional cost. The show features the work of Rachel Baxter ’11 & Daesha Devón Harris ’02.

For those in the Syracuse area, we’re holding a special event for you, too, on November 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Come out and cheer on your Golden Knights as they take on the Le Moyne Dolphins! Stop by after the women’s basketball game, which starts at 5 p.m., or before the men’s basketball game, which tips-off at 7 p.m. The venue for this event, The Distillery-DeWitt, 3112 Erie Blvd. E., Syracuse, is only about a mile from Henninger Athletic Center, where the games will be played.

Spend the evening catching up with fellow alums and Saint Rose families; meet Lori Anctil, the new associate vice president and director of athletics; and have the chance to win some great Saint Rose door prizes.
