Haley Duraski ’18
B.A. Music, concentration in trumpet performance
Hometown: Schodack, New York
Up next: State University of New York at Purchase, Master of Music program, brass performance

In a sense, Haley Duraski spent both high school and college at Saint Rose, since she has studied music here since ninth grade. For three summers before enrolling at the College, the talented trumpeter took part in the Pre-College Experience, an intensive music program for high school students.

During her time at the College, Duraski blossomed from a shy young person into a confident and respected performer. Her stage jitters were largely replaced by joy.

She has consistently practiced at least three hours a day to prepare for the many ensembles she is a part of and rarely said no when asked to lend her talent.

“All this has resulted in her being accepted at SUNY Purchase next year as a trumpet performance major. With this drive and determination she is probably going to have a very promising career playing her trumpet.” – Professor Robert Hansbrough, director of the Saint Rose Wind Ensemble
