Anna Chevez: cum laude, inducted into Psi Chi, (the international honor society in psychology)
B.S. Psychology
Hometown: Freeport, New York
Up next: Serving as Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado

Anna Chevez studied psychology at Saint Rose, while also taking part in the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Collectively, she says, the experiences provided her with an especially rich take on human behavior.

Through ROTC, she developed leadership and practical skills she could apply every day. And under the guidance of her psychology professors, she learned important research tools. Through the military program and through the College, she traveled to Poland, to Guatemala (her mother’s home country,) and to Rwanda, where she worked with military cadets.

Thanks to her distinctive college experience, Chevez says she has a healthy perspective on the vastly different ways people around the world do things.

She will continue her education during her time in the Army and, eventually, she hopes, will serve others as a licensed mental health counselor.

“I think what makes her really unique is she’s really independent, and she’s really genuine. It makes her delightful to have in classroom.” – Psychology Professor Nancy Dorr
