A word from Tim:
Compas Life is a brand I started with my business partner after having worked in the fashion and apparel industry for many years. After relocating from Brooklyn back to Upstate New York, we decided we wanted to create a brand inspired by the Upstate culture and environment! We are both from Upstate and are deeply inspired by our roots.

In the early months of 2020 we decided to fully dedicate our brand to the Upstate culture and re-brand “Compas Life” to our fan-favorite slogan “Upstate of Mind.” The Upstate of Mind is the feeling when you exhale your workweek and inhale that small-town relaxation. Whether you’re local to Upstate, a weekender or just a traveler – there is something special about breaking your routine and enjoying adventures in a new place.

For the last 6 years we have been working on growing this brand, but as the pandemic set in we were originally worried about how that would affect our business and the general small business culture. As it turns out, our rebranding struck a chord with many of our customers. Our community (and many beyond) we’re more than excited to support local business and the small town culture of Upstate New York really started to thrive. The theme of “Upstate of Mind” ended up stronger than ever!

When we started the Upstate of Mind brand we wanted to capture that getaway mentality. Our products emphasize comfort, relaxation and getting away for a while. It’s been really great to see the culture explode and give us the opportunity to create a brand that people of all ages and backgrounds can get behind!
