The College of Saint Rose is committed to providing a high quality and personal graduate education for students motivated by a sense of community, shared purpose and the pursuit of excellence. The Graduate Admissions office prides itself on offering timely and effective customer service whether in person or online.

However, at this time, we are following New York state mandates and working remotely to support the health initiatives that will hopefully abate the Coronavirus. Below are new services, revised policies and reconfigured events to keep you informed and engaged with our community.

Updated Policy Changes

  • To ease the financial burden on students applying to Saint Rose the following policies have been amended:
    1. Application fees:
      Will be waived for students completing an application after April 1st for all Albany based and online programs.
    2. Tuition deposits:
      Will be waived. We ask that students complete the Intent to Enroll form.
  • Specific program testing requirements are currently postponed until further notice. Please read below to see if it applies to your program
    1. GRE/MAT/EdTPA:
      Teacher and Special Education applicants will be required to meet the New York State requirement of supplying one of these test scores by the end of their first semester of enrollment.
    2. GMAT/GRE:
      This requirement is waived for all programs in the School of Business until further notice.
    3. TOEFL/IELTS/PTE:
      International students for whom English is not their first language have two options:

      • Take the Duolingo online English Assessment. A score of 105 or better is required for admission.
      • Take a placement exam upon arrival to Saint Rose and if necessary enroll in English Language course as part of your first semester workload to meet our English requirements.
    4. Application deadlines have been moved.
      • Priority Fall Application deadline is now May 1st.
      • Rolling deadline remains in effect for part-time and non-matriculated students.
      • Graduate Assistantship deadline is now June 15th.

New Advising Arrangements

To better serve students, we are offering the following formats for which to have your questions answered.

  1. Personal Information Session:
    Please contact Naishly Ortiz at ortizn@strose.edu. She will arrange a meeting (either by video or phone) with one of our experienced counselors at a time most convenient to your schedule.
  2. Meet a Graduate Student:
    Our students will be available to answer your questions about their academic programs, overall life at Saint Rose, living in Albany and co-curricular activities. Please see the list of students below and contact them via email. They will work with you to find an agreeable time to connect.

  3. Drop in Hours:
    For immediate answers to general and program specific questions join one of our Zoom Chats – no registration required, just follow the link to the live session and speak with one of our counselors. Sessions are setup by program area.
