Due to public health concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic, The College of Saint Rose has canceled the 2020 Pre-College Experience – a summer program with an overnight option offering programs in music, visual arts, digital filmmaking, criminal justice, and esports – which was scheduled to take place July 13 through 24 at Saint Rose.

The summer program for high school students typically draws about 100 students from throughout New York and other states.

“As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way business, government, educational institutions, and individuals operate on a daily basis. The safety of our Pre-College Experience participants – and the protection of public health – is our focus,” Dr. John Dion, an associate professor of marketing at Saint Rose and director of the Pre-College Experience, told registered participants in an email. “And so, with no clear timeline for when the risk posed by COVID-19 will dissipate and large gatherings can safely resume, we have sadly had to make the decision to cancel this year’s Pre-College Experience at The College of Saint Rose.”

Families who have already paid a deposit for the Pre-College Experience will receive reimbursements via check.

Pre-College Experience will resume in summer 2021.
