Application Considerations

Applicants should submit their applications for non-matriculated study at least two weeks before the start of the semester.

To be considered for non-matriculated graduate study at Saint Rose an application procedure is required. In many cases, non-matriculated applicants must go through the same application process as matriculated applicants. Not all programs will allow a student to apply on a non-matriculated basis. Contact the Office of Graduate Admissions if you have any questions about this.

Follow these steps to apply:

  • Graduate Application – Begin your online application.
  • Statement of Intent – Please indicate why you plan to study on a non-matriculated basis. If you already know which courses you wish to take, please indicated those here as well.
  • Official transcript(s) – Official transcript(s) from all colleges attended must be sent directly to the Graduate Admissions office.
  • Letters of Recommendation – While not all programs require letters of recommendation for non-matriculated study, they are strongly recommended for all applicants. Recommendations should be submitted from individuals in an academic or professional setting. Recommenders can be invited to submit their recommendation letter through with our online application or they can submit a hardcopy letter along with a downloadable recommendation form.

*Please note that international students cannot apply on a non-matriculated basis (except under special circumstances), they should refer to the Center for International Programs about non-matriculated study
