Welcome to our newest Golden Knights! The Division of Student Success and Engagement provides intentional programming including STAR, Pathways and Welcome HOME. Your Saint Rose Orientation , which foster a welcoming environment and provide a seamless transition to your first day of classes.

Student Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR) DAY:

Your First-Year Experience begins with Student Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR), a one-day program for incoming undergraduate students. During STAR, you will be introduced to the academic expectations and campus engagement opportunities at Saint Rose. STAR sessions have break-out presentations for family members as well. As a new student, this is an exciting time filled with nervous anticipation. We encourage you to have an open mind, embrace opportunities to meet new friends, try something new and always ask questions.

All deposited first-year students will receive an invitation to register for a STAR session. In the meantime, here is list of dates and an at-a-glance schedule of events.

STAR Days 2018 (new students are required to attend one session):

  • STAR #2: Thursday, June 28, 2018
  • STAR #3: Thursday, July 12, 2018

STAR Day Schedule of Events

Students and guests receive customized schedules for the day. There will be presentations, opportunities to connect with classmates, meet with a faculty advisor or academic counselor, receive your first semester course schedule, enjoy lunch, have your student ID photo taken and learn more about the various offices and departments on campus.

Confirmation letters with more detailed schedules will be mailed and emailed two weeks prior to the STAR Day you’re attending. For planning purposes, please note that registration/check-in and continental breakfast begins at 8:15am. The welcome and opening remarks begin at 9:00am and the day will conclude with a short closing presentation at 3:50pm. To help you make the most of your Saint Rose experience, we’ve scheduled a an orientation program, which is required for all new students!

Welcome HOME. Your Saint Rose Orientation provides a platform to jump-start a rich and rewarding career at The College of Saint Rose. You’ll have an opportunity learn more about the mission of Saint Rose, reflect on and learn about ways to manage the transition to college, meet other new and current students, become aware of campus resources, discover ways to be involved in the Saint Rose and surrounding community, gain an understanding of the College’s academic and community expectations.

Each student will receives a customized schedule of events for Welcome HOME. Your Saint Rose Orientation. Resident students will receive it at check-in and commuter students are asked to pick it up at 3pm on Wednesday, August 22 in the Atrium of the Events and Athletics Center. Students are invited to jump start their college career by participating in Pathways, which are early arrival experiences that allow students to arrive on-campus three days prior to all new students. Pathways provide unique opportunities to work in small groups to develop teamwork and leadership skills while engaging in new experiences, making new friends and creating lifetime memories. (Offered prior to fall semester only).

Important Dates for All First-Year Students:

  • Pathways Program: Move-in is Sunday, August 19 and Pathways Concludes Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
  • Move-In Day: New first-year and transfer students move-in on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
  • Welcome HOME. Your Saint Rose Orientation: Kicks-off late afternoon on Wednesday, August 22, and concludes Sunday, August 26, 2018.
  • Returning Students Move-In: Saturday, August 25, 2018.
  • Week of Welcome Commences: Saturday, August 25, 2018.
  • First Day of Classes: Monday, August 27, 2018.
