The College of Saint Rose will show its support for educators with an Education Appreciation Barbecue on August 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. on the College’s Campus Green.

P-12 education has faced a number of challenges in recent years, including navigating educating students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Going into this school year, the nation is also seeing a significant teacher shortage, which highlights how vital education professionals are to all of us.

Saint Rose grants more degrees and certificates in the field of education than any other college or university in New York State and is home to 28,000-plus educators graduated and counting. The College sees itself as vital in navigating this statewide and national teacher shortage crisis.

The August 11 barbecue provides a way to show support and appreciation for our education community and provide valuable networking opportunities for our soon-to-be-educator students. Saint Rose alumni, faculty, our educational partners, and all local teachers and education professionals and their families have been invited to attend. More than 425 people are registered for the event as of August 10. There will be food, children’s activities, raffles, and more during the event. The Events and Athletics Center, at 432 Western Avenue, which borders the Campus Green, has been selected as the rain location, though the forecast for Thursday is favorable.

Registration for the event is required and can be completed online.
