Scott Bartley

An engaged, savvy, and influential creative professional immersed in the fast-paced world of branding and marketing, Scott Bartley ’93 honed his artistic skills in the graphic design program at Saint Rose. Since then, he has gone on to work for agencies throughout the Northeast, including D.J. Moore Advertising (Albany, New York), Winstanley Associates (Lenox, Massachusetts), and Hammond Farrell Advertising, Biederman Kelly Krimstein & Partners, and Seiter and Miller Advertising (New York, New York).

For the last two decades – after cofounding his own firm, Bartley & Dick Advertising/Design, where he serves as partner and creative director – Bartley has created immersive brand experiences and numerous award-winning campaigns for clients in many fields, including Amazon, AMC Networks, The BBC, Federal Reserve Bank, Timberland, and Microsoft.

And, in a project with special personal significance, Bartley’s firm created the “HOME” branding for Saint Rose.

His thoughts on Saint Rose in his career success:

I always knew I wanted to be in advertising.

When I got to Saint Rose, the entire experience of the Art School pushed (and supported) me towards my goal. My professors took a personal interest in my success. The capitalized on my strengths and allowed me to work on my weaknesses. When I graduated, I had a solid foundation going into my first job.

Once I started working, the relationships I formed at Saint Rose followed me from agency to agency. I’ve been fortunate enough to continue to work with Saint Rose alums across the board. From clients to co-creators.
I had the best time at Saint Rose. I met my future lifelong friends there and received a great education. I met my wife my sophomore year. Everything I have in my life (friends, family, career) can be connected back to Saint Rose. I’m forever grateful for the experience.

Saint Rose is a special place. Once you go there, you are part of a connected family that never ends.

His thoughts on the occasion of the centennial:

One hundred years is a major milestone. It’s a perfect time for reflection, to look back and see how much we have evolved over the years. And, to look forward to what we will become.

I think it’s an incredible opportunity to goal set – determine who we want to be and where we want to go. And put together a strategy and plan to get there.
