In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has affected the economy and workforce, Saint Rose will offer a free Sales Skills Training Certificate Boot Camp to help displaced workers or those looking to sharpen their skills or change industries. This online non-credit bearing program is delivered by the College’s Sales Professional in Residence Mark Michalisin and is available to community members, who hold a bachelor’s degree, as well as prospective and current MBA students from July 20 through August 10.

“Part of Saint Rose’s mission is to ‘address the concerns of the times,’ and offering this sales certificate program free-of-charge will help community members become more marketable to employers in an increasingly competitive workforce due to the challenges of the pandemic,” said Dr. Raj Aroskar, dean of the Huether School of Business.

“Our Sales Professional in Residence Mark Michalisin has over 25 years of experience in business-to-business sales and has created a program that will help community members build confidence as well as resume credentials.”

Michalisin, who leads the College’s recently launched Sales Management program, will teach participants of all skill levels practical sales knowledge and techniques applicable to almost any industry. The general public will enjoy an accelerated four-day program, whereas prospective and current Saint Rose MBA students will partake in a two-week program. Both sessions will take place Monday through Thursday, from either 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participants who attend all of their sessions will receive a non-credit bearing certificate of completion from the Huether School of Business at Saint Rose.

Topics that this program will cover include the sales cycle, the buyer’s cycle, prospecting, SMART goal setting, SPIN selling, leadership, and essential skills for success.

“This program will not only help participants gain practical sales skills and the confidence to take the next step in their careers, but they will get a feel for what it is like to take grad-level business courses at our business school,” said Michalisin.

Community members interested in signing up for the program, or who want to learn more, can visit www.strose.edu/sales-boot-camp/. Registration will be capped at 50 participants per session.
